It is fine, but not as soft as before

I thought washing with the lanolin soap would leave the sheepskin as soft as it was initially, but it has a dry feeling. It is definitely cleaner. I did not wet the back, just wet a cloth and wiped the wool. I didn’t rinse it — just wiped with a damp cloth. Perhaps I should have rinsed it more thoroughly?

I had two sheepskin rugs that I purchased in New Zealand twenty years ago and had never been washed. I followed your instructions carefully and they now are soft and luxurious as they were twenty years ago. Great product!
