Pencil thin (more like chopstick) stem with very sparse foliage, only at the apex. On the positive side, taller than expected at nearly three feet. I've purchased four citrus trees from Sow Exotic and they're all like this. The packaging/boxing however, is the best of any nursery that I've ever ordered from. Another good point is that they come in tall tree pots with a good root system so it was easy to up-pot in my own soil without having to remove excessive poor quality media. Instead of bamboo, they came staked to fairly stiff metal wire like a straightened-out clothes hanger. The tape stapled around the stem and wire was very tight and could girdle it in a couple of weeks so important to remove right away.
