All-U-Need 8" glass model
The order was prepared and delivered in less than a week over to France. All items are very well protected, each in a sealed plastic bag containing the notice and eventually additional tools. The grinder is quite easy to set-up and can fit in narrow spaces thanks to its compact size. The complementary water-in & water-out systems provide a good autonomy and drainage capabilities depending on the setup you choose.. The water-in clamp is hard to keep in place but it can be managed by fixing it directly to the grinder carter. interchanging the disks and flat laps is fast and simple. I have been using the flat grinder a couple of times so far for testing glass beveling. I still need to process through all the steps and find my own way but the trials are promising. To ease with the process and gain width, I am planning to replace the black carter by brushes alongside the white one and 3d print an accessory for creating custom glass bevels at the right pattern and angles all the way around. I'll probably give a further update after experiencing in greater details.

Solid, capable, and a big upgrade for coldworking fused glass
I’ve been using the All-U-Need flat lap (glass model) for coldworking the bottoms of cast pieces, removing devit, and prepping surfaces before fire polishing — and it’s made a noticeable difference in my process. The 8" disc size gives me much more control and consistency than a traditional bit grinder, and it’s significantly faster for leveling and smoothing larger surfaces. I love being able to swap out different diamond laps and gradually step up through grits. It’s especially helpful when I want a clean finish before slumping or fire polishing. The motor runs smoothly, and the included splash guard and drip system work well once you get them stabilized. That said, the splash guard doesn’t lock into place — it shifts easily if bumped, which can be frustrating. I also may not be using it correctly - this machine is still new to me. I ended up taping it down, and that kept it in place. I also placed the machine inside a storage container (shown in the photo) as a precaution for splash control — though in general, I’ve found this setup produces far less splash than a standard bit grinder. Overall, I’d absolutely recommend this machine to other glass artists — especially if you’re ready to move beyond a traditional upright grinder and want more precision in your coldworking workflow. It’s a great investment if you’re looking to level up the quality and efficiency of your finishing work!
