SOL is doing an amazing job of taking rider feedback and incorporating into there design and engineering. The new shine and retractable fin setup really shows how this sport can evolve. If your on the fence about SOL get off and get one. Side not if you are a heavier rider like myself and interested in stability over performance get a longer size board. I have always used a 9'6 but with the amazing rocker on this board it limits you surface contact with the water thus decreasing stability. But don't let that deter you im 260lbs and can surf the shine all day and run it down river no problem it just requires more balance than a 9'6 with less rocker. Also the quality of SOL boards is unmatched I have several board from Johnny and I can tell you they can take a beating. I have another shine that has been used hard for over 4 years and loaned out to friends, family and beginners and still feels like a new board.
