Great Boards, Easy Setup, and Nothing but Good Experiences

We originally purchased a Hydrus Joyride and Joyride XL together, then added another Joyride about a week later so a friend or one of the kids could come along. Shipping arrived exactly when expected, and everything was packaged well with no damage. We’ve taken the boards out five or six times so far, both on our own and with company, and haven’t had a single problem. The included hand pump works well and gives you a pretty good workout. We also purchased the electric pump, which is definitely much easier and faster. Packing everything back up has been simple. The boards, paddles, fins, ankle leashes, repair kits, and even the cup and can holders we purchased separately all fit back into the carrying bags without any trouble. The boards have performed great, the quality feels solid, and we’ve had nothing but good times with them. We’re very happy with all purchases and would absolutely recommend Hydrus.

TLDR: 5 stars, all the function, little fluff

Overall, I’m quite happy with my Hydrus Joyride. I rented a hard board a couple times to try out the sport and after researching an inflatable board, positive reviews lead me to the Hydrus. As others mentioned, I find it very ridged at 15 PSI and it performed comparable to the hard boards I’ve rented. FYI, I’m 5’10” 150 lbs, so I think larger people will benefit even more from the ridged construction. While looking at comparable boards in the price range, most seemed to be focused on gimmicks (thinner profiles/ extra chambers) or bloated feature sets (extra attachment points /kayak seats and paddles). I liked the simplicity of the Hydrus board so that I just pull it out of the bag, attach the electric pump and while that runs, I get my pack, PFD, dry bag all sorted. In other words, I park the car and am on the water in 10 minutes. I appreciate the “Weniger, aber besser” aka: “do less, but do it better” philosophy in the product design. I think this is how they can get the performance and lifetime warranty into the product. Finally, as others mentioned, the team at Hydrus was very responsive to my queries and helped me when I found that I had purchased the wrong pump for my use case. If I go to purchase another board for my household it will most likely be a Hydrus. Cheers Mr. Zawadzki, great product and great team. -Sam

Joyride review

Ordered on a Sunday and board was shipped out Monday you can’t ask for anything quicker. The quality seems excellent but only had the board a week. So far couldn’t be happier with my purchase. We plan on getting a second one soon.
