I used it on a tie down fitting on a Piper Archer III. The clamping diameter is OK on this, but should be aligned. I used it with the also purchased exterior ball head mount. First time using (due to operator error) I torqued the screw in the ball head fingers too strong and stripped the SS to Aircraft aluminum threads. A phone call to the Manf quickly fixed my product. The total mounting system is high quality and thought out. Particularly like the ratcheting red arm for tight spots. I also purchased separately larger SS washers if I decide to use it on the tail tiedown. They would slip between the spud and the threaded arm section. The spud has a corrugated rubber surface In use it has been very rigid and steady.
