I've used my cable twice on two separate flights and it works like a charm. The older Hero 3 Camera cables wore out after a few years, the resulting audio being so full of static it was impossible to use. Build quality of this new cable appears high and durable. I believe these cables with their USB C connectors will be far more reliable over the longer term on my Hero 7's. I've yet to try powering the camera simultaneously with recording the audio.
