For a first real espresso machine this unit will easy you in and let you develop your skills to the level you choose to go. As you develop you can get a bottomless portafilter and change the OPV spring to a 9 bar; yes amazing.

Exactly what I wanted!

I bought this particular tamper because I own the DeLonghi espresso maker and wanted to be sure it would fit correctly in the espresso basket. Well, it does! I love the weight of it. Makes tamping to much easier than using the flimsy plastic one that came with the product. I'm starting to feel like a pro . . . well, almost. Great product!

Well-made product

After doing much research for a tamper for my DeLonghi, I found it best to go with the manufacturer solely because of the size (51mm width is not universal across companies). What came in the package totally impressed me, a sturdy yet supple wood handle and a stainless steel tamper that fits the machine like a glove. Since my purchase, I've been able to make my cups more consistent in strength and quality.
