I was upgrading my bike from a Campagnolo Veloce triple 9 speed crankset to a SRAM Force 22 crankset and found that the brazed on hanger was to high to get the optimal spacing. This adapter solved my problem.

Solved my problem

The braze-on hanger on my Giant bike was designed for compact or standard cranksets, I think, and the bike came with a compact. I was upgrading to the GRX 46/30 crankset and the hanger was too high to get within the correct distance of the 46T ring. I saw some other similar adapters for sale, but the FSA one had a superior design. Although the adapter worked for my bike, it does (1) move the FD position back slightly into a sub-optimal position for the FD support bolt and (2) could potentially prevent the FD from clearing the chainstay.
