Le Marais Coat 14.5" Doll Clothes Pattern

Check the fit

I really like the design of this coat, and the Pattern instructions were very clear and mostly complete. My only disappointment is in the fit of the pattern. The coat is about an inch above the knee on my WellieWisher doll, unlike the picture shown on the pattern. I followed cutting and construction instructions precisely, so I don’t know why I got this result . Also, the fit of the coat is quite snug and it would be difficult to button it over a dress or other outfit. I would allow more overlap at center front in making this pattern again. One other comment on the instructions, it would be helpful to Add an instruction at step 36 to press 1/4 inch at the bottom of the sleeve lining to the inside before pinning sleeve lining to coat lining (instead of mentioning this as an afterthought in step 43). I hope my comments are helpful. Overall, I enjoyed making this coat, and am pleased with the result. (Picture is taken before buttons & buttonholes were done)

I haven't made it yet but the pattern is really cute and I'm looking forward to making it.
