I could not be happier with this purchase. Quality of all the components, down to the hardware and small bits... all excellent. It took a few hours of tower hunting and aiming, but well worth the effort. Raised my speeds 5 fold over the Amazon antenna it replaced, enough to upload video from our camera system. Tutorials and guides here are very helpful and appreciated. Highly recommended!!!

Installation was a bit clumsy, but signal strength is impressive

Bought this antenna to help boost signal strength and the signal to noise ratio for an Inseego FX3100 from TMobile. The rural location of building is about 4 miles from the cell tower with an unobstructed line of sight. The antenna was mounted in the attic space temporarily, until weather allows for an exterior install. Since the building is on a hill, more than 400 feet higher in elevation than the tower, the antenna needs a downward angle to get the best signal. The mounting base, when attached to a horizontal surface, has an arced slotted hole that mainly allows for an upward tilt of the antenna mast. Nothing in the installation manual addresses a downward tilt configuration. Perhaps a phone call to Waveform may have given us better direction, but we were crunched for time. Once installed, the unit does give considerable boost in speed performance. Even though the FX3100 has only two TS9 external antenna ports with limited bands, thus requiring the purchase of the MIMO 2x2, speed test results have almost doubled from the stock internal antenna. Signal strength went from -100dBm stock to -91dBm with the Waveform. SNR went from 2dB to 10dB. As mentioned earlier, once weather allows, an exterior installation should yield even better results. We ordered a unit with 50 feet of cable, giving us ample flexibility in locating the antenna. If an exterior install gives us even better performance, we wouldn't hesitate in giving this a 5 star rating.

Some Experimentation Required

Waveform provides very good quality hardware. As with any antenna system you need to experiment with the location to get good results. My estimated orientation and location did not provide good results; however after an hour or so of testing I found an optimal location. The only downside to this kit is it requires some extras. If the connections are exposed to the rain (I cannot imagine how this is not the case) you need to wrap the joints in silicon tape. Finally you will also need some screws to mount the j mount. Very all this is a good antenna with good quality cables.
