Unique in the best way
I’m a long time sheng drinker and have only tried a dozen or so shou teas, but this stands out. To be honest the main traits I look for in a shou are lack of odors/flavors remaining from wo dui and a strong cha qi. This delivered a very slight wo dui smell and taste, but it worked in its favor and is fairly typical for the age of the tea in my experience. Nice bracing flavor, great for morning, I feel under qualified to say anything more because I’m really no expert with shou. But I really like it. Cha qi is lovely and unique, more energizing like a sheng but still very calming and warming typical of shou. A great balance and a great morning tea, I’ll be ordering more for long term storage.
