My wife was wanting a new vehicle because the navigation on the Sync 2 was outdated and didn’t have CarPlay. We upgraded to the Sync 3 conversion and not only does she now have CarPlay and updated navigation but the touch screen is more responsive. This upgrade has allowed us to keep our current vehicle for at least another year. I also received the item before the expected delivery which was a nice surprise. The installation guide is helpful but not perfect. The GPS antenna had a mounting plate so I spent a fair bit of time trying to find the proper mounting location and ultimately just placed it under the dash loose. I also opted for the wireless CarPlay dongle and it seems to be working well. It gives us the option to connect to either device when we are both in the vehicle and saves me having to search for my cord while driving. Another benefit to the dongle is I can charge my phone with a car charger rather than a usb for a quicker charge and still be connected to CarPlay. Overall very satisfied and if I didn’t try exploring for the antenna I would’ve been able to do the conversion in approximately 2 hours. Would recommend to friends or family to extend the life of their vehicle.
