Versatile
I love that this lens can capture sweeping landscapes then shift to macro and capture the smallest details of a flower. All with a velvety finish.

My Velvet 28 is great
The great thing about this lens is that you can set it to f 8 and use it as a standard lens, then change the aperture to dial in creamy bokeh and dreamy light. The only negative is that the mount on the Sony version is a bit wobbly.

A Real Softie
Spherical aberration caused the soft glow in vintage lenses and has been designed out in many modern lenses, except for Lensbaby lenses. The Velvets are the softies and the Velvet 28 more so than the 56 or 85. That said the lens does get sharp enough and is a gem for landscape images near dawn or dusk.
