Heavy Duty Double Sided Tape For Insulation - 1'' x 54'

Insulation installation review and recommendation

I have a 20ft x 30ft metal building that became an oven in the summer and rained condensation during colder months. After researching the different insulation methods available I selected Ecofoil Single Bubble Insulation – White/Foil. Included in my order was enough Heavy Duty Double Sided Tape to adhere the insulation to the ceiling so that it would not sag. I assumed that the sides would not require that tape as it should nest nicely within the 44in frame bays. I also purchased enough 3in White Tape to cover all the seams. Two weeks after the install, the 3in White Tape began to detach from the insulation, presumable gravity was winning that battle. I contacted Ecofoil regarding this issue and was told that the tape would only adhere to the insulation product and not the metal framing. But the opposite was true. Further consultation with Ecofoil resulted in their providing me installation instructions which suggested that I build a wood grid system to support the insulation. This did not seem reasonable to me. Instead, I pulled off all the White Tape and used White Gorilla Tape instead, which matched the insulation better anyways. It has now been just over one year since the install and my review/suggestion is as follows: the insulation works well. The building is no longer an oven and the condensation issue has been contained. The Heavy Duty Double Sided Tape is fantastic. I recommend that two strips of this product be applied at every insulation install location (not just the ceiling). And as mentioned, do not bother with the frustration that is the 3in White Tape and use White Gorilla Tape instead.
