I've been using Mason Pearson brushes for 45 years. Ugly Swan's Detangling Brush is even better with similar combination of boar and nylon bristles and the price is affordable!

I got both the full sized bush for every day use and this one to use during travel. From the information provided, I thought it might struggle with my rather thick, coarse long hair but gave it a try. I am glad I did. It doesn't struggle to get through my hair at all. It does almost as good a job as the full sized brush. The handle is really comfortable in the hand. I'd definitely recommend it to most hair types. (maybe Afro hair the exception?) I probably will be back to buy a set for my nieces and nephews.
