Sugar and Spice

My late husband introduced me to you before we married in 2007. I have been known to recommend you to shoppers in the spice aisle in my local market. Products are always fresh and delivered promptly. The number of items available is astounding. It's like having a spice market in your kitchen. I love the fact I can order as little as 4 oz. I don't cook as much as I did but I still appreciate the availability at a more than reasonable price.

Not the Same

The salt changed. I was willing to swallow the tripling of cost - but the flavor and texture is massively different. The crystals are larger, more solid, less flaky, and the flavor, despite a deep color, is not nearly as pronounced - I am guessing it doesn't permeate the larger crystals as well during smoking. It's still smoked - and I crushed it in a mortar and pestle to be able to use it as I used to, but it's still not the same. Uncrushed, if you are sprinkling, you will be adding several times more salt than you used to, and still not get the same smoky hit. Very disappointed as a very long-time fan, and the main reason I was a repeat customer at Myspicesage. I am looking at other brands for better product.
