We can't rate this insert higher. I did a TON of research to surprise my wife with an electric insert (she wanted a traditional wood burning fireplace). I even watched a video of the Dimplex Revillusion, and gosh - best purchase decision I made for our home. It's even more beautiful and comforting in person. It's provides so many settings, it was easy to install and on and on. If you're on the fence - THIS is the product. Buy it. You won't regret it. Totally worth the price point.

Realistic, safe alternative to gas or wood-burning!

We bought a house without a fireplace and wanted to add one to create a focal point on a large, blank, living room wall. After looking into multiple options, this proved to be the most feasible and safest way to DIY a fireplace. Though it is more expensive than other electric inserts on the market, the realism is worth it. We did not want to compromise authentic flames for a cheap-looking option, and are impressed with this product! There are so many combinations of lighting and flame options, which allow you to set it in a way that you feel looks best. We like no surround lighting and blue under-lighting. The heating aspect also has been a pleasant feature; it heats up to your set temperature quickly and is fairly quiet. In terms of installing it, the instructions include specific measurements for framing around it. We were able to build a wooden frame in 1 day and are excited to finish it by attaching it to the existing wall via studs, adding drywall and baseboard, and painting it to match so that it looks built-in!
