Exactly what we needed.
The rods were helpful to support the extensions used to raise the brooder at the bottom of my stack. Without the additions of the rods I felt the extensions by themselves might be a bit weak.

Elevation
I have found that the older I get, the more I cannot easily get up and down from floor/ground level. I was having a difficult time enjoying the birds I placed on the lowest level of my HT cages. I ordered all the supplies needed so I could extend the legs and raise the 4-layer system up. This rod acts to stabilize the legs and provides strength to the system.
