Dolce Fresca in Aero Garden

I planted a few seeds of Dolce Fresca in my Aero Garden on 11-2-23. We have been harvesting the leaves since early December. Since this variety is relatively short it works well in the Aero Garden and the flavor is very good. This planting should last till the end of February and then I’ll plant more which will go outside in the garden for summer harvest. Dan

It was great. I have already planted a few of the seeds and they are growing in a sunny window.

Dolce Fresca Basil

Shopping at Pinetree is always a treat. This new(to me) basil is very different than others I've grown. The flavor is sweeter, and a bit lemony. I didn't like it in pesto alone, but mixed with other basils (Genovese, etc) its lemony flavor was interesting. I also like it as a tea or in a summer drink. It has a tinier leaf than the broadleafed basils, and the plant grows very bushy and tall. It hasn't gone to seed quickly, and has regrown after I trimmed it back.
