Kensington Black - Gel Stain

Best stain l have ever used in my business l use it to make my creative items look old and primitive

This was a gift for my husband (was on his wish list). Can't wait for him to use it on a cabinet he's building for me.

I really can't rate the product fairly. It didn't work like I'd hoped it would, but then neither did any of the other penetrating type stains that I tried. What did finally work was a stain-and-poly product. I think the problem was partly that I'm an amateur, and partly that the wood (quarter & live sawn oak), had a very pronounced grain. The stains were readily absorbed by the grain but nowhere else. However, I plan to use the gel stain on another project. The wood grain is much less pronounced (poplar, maybe) and I think the gel stain will work much better.
