Old and slow to start
Followed the instructions as always on brew day and by the time it came to pitch the pack had no expanded at all. Still pitched it hoping for the best. It took 1.5/1.75 days for the yeast to activate and then there was a steady fermentation. You have to wonder at the quality control at Northern Brewer when a snack pack gives you trouble. Never had this problem at my local homebrew shop but they closed which forced me back to NB where this is unfortunately par for the course

Ringwood Ale Yeast
This is a great yeast. It took a bit for it to begin fermenting but when it started, it took off like a rocket. Over two weeks in the primary fermenter and it’s still going pretty good. I didn’t make a yeast starter and pitched it directly into the wort but it did what it’s supposed to do.
