Yamacoh Ohitsu Sawara Wooden Rice Container (Edobitsu)

An unexpected pleasure!

I was able to use my obits for the first time yesterday. WOW! I hadn't realized what a joy it was to have such a tool in my kitchen. The rice came out perfectly moist, and had a delicate fragrance from the wood which enhanced the meal. I think I'll have to buy an additional smaller one, just for making rice for one. This was a great buy! Thank you!

Ohitsu part 2

The edobitsu absorbed the exceeding moisture and the rice was perfect. The best was yet to come: in the morning the rest of the rice I had left in the ohitsu overnight was cold of course but still perfectly moist and neither sticky nor dry. It's a pleasure to rely upon natural intelligence and the blog article's title seems to be true: for the very best rice, you need an ohitsu.
