Beautiful and mild
Relative to other chicory varieties, this one is mild but still has a nice bitter flavor that adds depth to salads. We are a small mixed vegetable CSA farm and we have success with growing Castelfranco in the early Spring (started in winter), and then we grow Sugarloaf for our Fall crop (started in Summer) We are PNW Oregon zone 8b
