20" Standard Walnut Chess Board

Too good

For the longest time I wanted a 55mm square board and could never find an affordable one that is also high quality. No one but Chess House had an option like this in the American market. This board is amazing. Versus 57mm (2.25”) squares, it gives my sets a bit of tighter look without being as cramped as 2” squares. Pawns still have space, but don’t feel lost. The matte finish is also a nice touch, since I have only had satin boards. It looks amazing, but it’s not distracting. The walnut has good contrast with both acacia pieces and ebonized boxwood pieces as you can see from the pictures. And finally, I mostly avoid boards with notation because I prefer a clean look, but these notations are very elegant and minimalist. I love it. You can’t go wrong with this board.
