I've been using Chemex natural filters. When l changed to this metal filter l adjusted the grind (to medium fine instead of medium coarse) and increased the amount by a very little. (I use an Oxo grinder.) The result is a very clean cup of good coffee, no better and no worse than with the Chemex natural paper. The metal filter is very slightly more convenient because l don't have to wash it with hot water before putting the coffee in. (I still preheat it and the Chemex carafe before putting the coffee in.)
