WCS Classic Collection Razor 175S, Stainless Steel

Solid Razor!

I previously had the WCS Midnight 84B, which I really liked. The handle was the perfect length and heft. The 175S is much heavier, so I'm still getting used to that. Also, I had open comb before, and I decided to try closed comb this time. Overall, I like the shave I get with the 175S, but it will just take more getting used to I think. Not sure about closed comb though :/

Razor head is not the quality I expected

The Best WCS Classic Razor

I bought this Open Comb WCS Classic 175S for use as my travel razor however it ended up being my favorite one. Following in the footsteps of my dad who loves open comb razor influenced my decision to go open comb instead of closed comb razors. It’s true that you would have to pair this nice hefty razor with a blade that works for you and not rely on reviews posted here. Knowing that open comb razors are slightly aggressive, I first paired this safety razor with a Wilkinson Sword and an Astra, both of which were aggressive to my liking. Ended up having a lot of nicks and bumps which I never did had ( Yaqi Beast Head was worst but it’s for another review. ) So I switched blades to Shark and Dorco ( mild blades) and I found a sweet razor, no bumps, no irritations and no nicks. As I mentioned before that I intended this razor to be my travel razor but now is my favorite one inspite of the fact that I have several WCS Classic Collection Razors in 175g black and stainless with closed comb and with WCS toothsome head. It’s a nice heft, heavy and I let it’s weight do the work aside from being corrosion resistant. Experiment with different blade types from mild to medium aggressive to aggressive to suit your preference. West Coast Shaving, I will be coming back to you for ALL my shaving needs and supplies. You got me sold.
