SSP Red Speed Coated 83mm Grinding Burrs

Easy to install

I purchased these burrs along with Ceado E37S. The installation was so easy. I’m not sure why many customers are complaining about difficulty in installing the burrs. All you have to do is to schedule a session (called Coffee Cast) with Whole Latte Love, and they can guide you through. So far, my experience with the Ceado E37S and these upgraded burrs has been amazing ! The coffee comes so fluffy!

Excited to try but they wouldn’t fit.

I was really excited to try these, unfortunately, the tolerance is super tight on my ceado E37S. The bottom burr seated but the top wouldn’t. Attached are images of the top burr lip depth. It was too wide to fit in the channel machined into the top of the grinder. I reached out to support and they told me to use a towel, piece of wood and a tool to seat them. For the price of these burrs that shouldn’t be a consideration. I sent them back for fear of damaging my grinder. I gave them a two star because support was helpful and kind.

Great upgrade, worth it!

Putting these burrs in my Ceado E37S made an immediate difference in my espresso. It’s a fantastic grinder already, but these added a number of clear improvements, not subtle at all. Grinds are much fluffier and there are never clumps, even when grinding very finely and using very light roasts. That was hard to do before and the difference is obvious. This was the main reason I bought these burrs and it paid off! Flavor has a notable increase in clarity. It’s not more bright, just clearer. Nuances are easier to detect. I’d expect this to come at a cost to body or mouthfeel, and that may be reduced by a fraction, but that is not obvious, while the clarity is. They installed without trouble. The burrs fit tightly but easily and screws lined up without problem. Grind time is slower, but still very fast. A 17g dose used to take about 3.4 seconds, now it’s >4.2. Not something that matters to me at all. Similarly, the noise is slightly different, but not appreciably louder or quieter. The rating of 4 stars is simply because the price is so high. It was worth it to me, and I get where the costs come from, but let’s not kid ourselves that these are a lot of money for a luxurious upgrade. SSP burrs are 5-star equipment.
