Freeze Dried Shredded Cheddar Cheese

TLDR: I would buy it again. Reconstituting the cheese was easy -although just touching it I wasn’t sure the consistency would taste good as it was because it still felt firm. After draining the excess water we used it melted on nachos and it was indistinguishable from fresh cheese. I don’t know how it would be on something like a sandwich, but I suspect the texture would be off. I am happy to have something like this in food storage, but it goes very quickly and so would be expensive to use on a regular basis.

Great cheese melts evenly and smoothly

It performes like fresh cheese. I am counting on it being as good after being stored for years to come. Smells like cheddar, looks and taste just like cheddar.

I’d so much rather buy freeze dried items than try to get the freeze dryer and produce the foods myself for storage
