I tried za'atar with chicken breast to bring more interest to a rather bland dish. It gave the chicken a bit of earthy, umami quality that enhances the dish. Za'atar also works wonders with risotto. Use a small to moderate amount to give your bland dishes a bit of interest. Highly recommended.
