Hifiman HE1000 Stealth Planar Magnetic Headphones (Latest Edition)

Wow, just wow.

Powered by my audio chain of Roon Nucleus->Benchmark DAC3 B->Benchmark HPA4 headphone amplifier, the HE1000 Stealth V4 has become my favorite headphone in my stable (which currently includes the Hifiman Arya Stealth, HE500, HE6se, Dan Clark Audio Aeon 2 Noire, Audeze LCD-XC, ZMF Auteur, Focal Clear MG Pro, and Sennheiser HD600). Frequency response, tonality, soundstage, and imaging in aggregate outclass everything I own or have auditioned). Out of the box, they sound great. Use EQ and the HE1000 Stealth will take you wherever you want to go. Truly outstanding. Plenty of more detailed reviews can be found online…believe them. Plus, at the current purchase price ($949 in July 2026), they are an absolute bargain in the premium headphone audiophile market. The purchase experience with audio46 was also great…as was the prompt shipping.

Best purchase ever!

I have been eyeing an open back for quite sometime. So when I saw the He 1000 V2 Stealth on sale, I pounced on it. All my life all i used were IEMs. Always thought full size headphones aren’t foe me. And I have demoed and owned some of the best IEMs. Well, I was wrong. The moment I plugged in the 1000s, I was blown away. I realized how much I was loosing all these many years. The 1000s are so easy to drive. I use them with my Questyle M15 dongle and iPhone. Or my Sony WM1AM2 DAP. They all sound wonderful. But the best is when I use this headphone with the Woo Fireflies WA7 3rd gen. The sound becomes very holographic and magical. With very deep bass and wide sound stage. As always Audio46 is my go to store for all my needs. Tony K always got my back. Looking back, and knowing what I now know, I would have purchased this headphone even on regular price. That’s how good it is!
