A comfortable bower in the woods
Let me start by saying I am a 120 pound, 65 year old woman. I have only spent a couple early winter nights in my 4-season expedition HH, but they were the best nights I have spent in a hammock. I sleep cold so the two layer hammock allowed me to stuff my insulated ground pad in with the closed cell pad, they both stayed in position well. I also used an underquilt. It got down into about 34F overnight, and I slept pretty well. As a side sleeper I find the HH allows me to be comfortable in positions my other hammock didn’t allow. I love the details like the included prusik knot and clip for the fly, and the ring way up at the inside ends of the hammock. I use those small rings to hang a dry bag within reach. It is funny to me how many YouTube commenters have preferred not to tie Tom’s figure 8 lashing, I find that it works great, is pretty quick to tie, holds perfectly, and unties very simply. One night there was a light rain and the hex fly performed flawlessly. I love this set up and look forward to improved weather so I can get out and use it again!

Extremely comfortable, easy to set up, and holds up to severe thunderstorms!
