Great bike
Love my Wabi Lightning. I'm 58 years old and I commute from Bronx, NY to Manhattan, NY approximately 20 miles five days a week. I truly enjoy riding, uphill, downhill and flats. My Wabi is great and love the challenge.

Well made frame and responsive ride
The Columbus tubing is light, responsive, and comfortable. At this price point, wheels are heavy and use strange axle buts where ends have to be remove completely to take the wheels on and off (I'm used to 15mm nuts on SS bikes)., Paint is done well although the black doesn't pop as much as I was hoping. Got it during a sale and feel that I got my money's worth.

One of a Kind
I have just over 500 winter miles on my 55cm Lightning and have come to identify three critical performance characteristics. 1. Climbing. The Lightning encourages me to climb and rather than start to feel defeated and doubting my myself half way up a long killer hill, I suddenly stand up , attack and finish not with dread but a smile. 2. Low speed behavior. Unlike every other singlespeed I have had over the years, I can slow to a walk and maintain balance and thread stopped traffic or obstacles without being suddenly wobbly. 3. Climbing. When I stand and climb while leaning far forward I can keep the bike straight upright under power, no lost motion and all power to the back wheel. This is where the Lightning differs from other Wabis. My Lightning sits by the front door ready to go while all other bikes are in the back bedroom in the dark. I have never had so much fun on a bike, since 1972. Frank
