I can't believe I made it!

The directions are a little confusing, but I recommend you struggle through, because the jacket looks great.

I love this jacket. It takes time to make as I had to re-read the directions to make sure I was following them correctly. I did have trouble with the bottom of the jacket and couldn't figure out the ruffle, but am pleased with the result.

A bit overwhelming, but with awesome results!

I was a bit intimidated by this pattern, but I wanted to try it anyway. My first attempt didn't turn out well, and I haven't finished it yet (it still needs a zipper), but attempt no. 2 and 3 went together more easily than the first. I love detailed instructions, but this pattern is so detailed it's actually a bit too much! (Complaining about too detailed instructions… I must be crazy! Lol :D ) There are some steps that doesn't make sense (e.g. step 56 where it says to place the jacket lining over the jacket shell, and at step 57 it says to edgestitch the lining, but if you do this with the lining on top of the shell you'll sew the two layers together, and won't be able to finish the rest of the jacket). I really liked the recap of the sewing instructions with pictures on the last page, and really wish all patterns would come with this! I also wish the pattern would come with a converter on the measurements for us metric-people, but I was able to figure it out. After my first failed attempt I chose to omit the detail on the arms, and use the lining arm pattern piece for the outer as well. I also added a loop in the back/neck lining for a cute detail so the jackets can hang on hooks like real jackets. I made the jackets for my nieces birthdays, and they loved them! I give this pattern 5 stars (and more, if I could!), because the amount of work that went into making this pattern is amazing! If you want to try it but find it a bit intimidating: Read the instructions thoroughly before you begin, and break it down a bit. I found it to be much easier when I skipped some of the steps!
