I got the Colares for my home studio as an option for a vocal mic that could compete with my tube microphones--one of which I paid around four times what I paid for the Colares. I wanted to see if a low maintenance, no fuss condenser microphone could deliver comparable quality for my vocals. In short, it can and does. This is my second Roswell Pro Audio mic. Earlier I purchased the Delphos II, which is also a great, more transparent mic, and I still might be tempted to get the Aztec at some point. One thing is for sure: Matt knows what he's doing.
