Velco better than than Warroad; caution that the sleeves are shorter
I bought this because I have the first generation women's shirt (the one with no velcro that you just pull over your head). That one has lasted through skating 2x week for over a year, and has washed well. This one has the same great fit in the body (it actually is cut to a woman's body vs. being a box like a man's shirt), but it does have noticeably shorter sleeves than the other one I have. Some may like that because now it comes exactly to where my wrist meets my hand, but I prefer for it to extend a little over my hand. The velcro did not pull any hair out of my braid, both while taking it off and putting it on, which is in sharp contrast to the Warroad shirt which rips out hair every time.

It’s shockingly as good as advertised
This is the first base layer/neck guard I’ve ever bought but I don’t think I’ll be trying anything else. It’s breathable, comfortable, and the neck guard feels secure with its coverage. The closing system is something I haven’t seen before. It holds well - once I put it on I forget about it and I don’t ever need to adjust it. Great shirt and I will definitely be getting more of these.

Don’t fear the closure!
I’ve tried other neck guards/neck protection shirts with Velcro, and hated what they did to my hair. I’ve been wearing the women’s Blade Evo model with no closure, and was nervous to try this one. It’s nothing like Velcro…impossible to describe until you feel it! But, my long braid doesn’t get caught in it at all. I appreciate the “taller” neck protection. I also find this model to be much more breathable than the previous model.
