GREAT!!!! I planted one row of the beans and had plenty to eat and then gave the rest to neighbors. The second batch I planted did better than the first and the beans fed several people in this senior complex. Everyone was very happy to have some fresh beans. I froze some and so did my neighbor.

Prolific and tasty
Blue lake bush beans are my favorite for production, germination, and taste. They also blanch and freeze/can beautifully. This year the germination rate seemed lower than usual (other seeds that were directly planted did well), but that didn’t bother me as I always do succession planting anyway. I was a bit disappointed that there seems to be a quality control error resulting in a mixed variety this year - there is definitely a pole bean variety mixed with the bush beans. The mystery pole bean isn’t as tasty, was slow to germinate, and it is not yielding much yet, but that’s part of gardening and I do find humor in it.

Blue lake beans
These are my go to for bountiful harvests. They are very prolific and have an awesome bean flavor my family loves. Another home run from Pinetree! Thank you until next season!
