Best green loose-leaf lettuce hands-down

I've been growing Green Ice lettuce for years. It is the very best green loose-leaf variety all season. It does not germinate well so it helps to start with fresh seed every year and plant it fairly thickly (every few weeks for lettuce all summer). The ones that grow are crisp, sweet and ruffly - much better than any other green loose-leaf variety I've tried and I think I have tried them all!

Tender lettuce

I started the seeds at home as it’s been too cold to start seeds in my Glen Spey garden. They quickly germinated and we’ve been eating the greens as we await warmer weather to sink them into the ground. Delicious.
