Cute after tweaking

This dress turned out cute but I had to do quite a bit of tweaking so it would fit like the cute yellow dress on the pattern cover. I made a pattern piece for the top skirt layer instead of using a pre made vintage scarf.

I love this pattern it has a lot of veratility. Instructions are easy to follow. I think I will be making a lot of these little dresses .

Nice dress but pattern is lacking in clarity and ease of use

I did enjoy the final look of this dress, but the pattern is quite lacking. I have made many doll clothes patterns from various companies and this one wasn't my favorite. I should have known that a 12 page pattern was probably not going to have lots of details. First of all, it was written in a confusing manner. The pleated skirt style is barely explained and confusing, making it not much of a "second dress". Directions for the ruffle and pleated skirt are only really listed in a small box on the template page. In addition, the photos on the pattern are not numbered or written with arrows, so without written instructions alongside, they aren't much help. Finally, the directions assume you already understand MANY steps on your own. In other patterns, each step is numbered and spelled out in great detail. Here there are one or two sentences only, with a great deal of guesswork needed. There are at least 3 steps that I didn't do properly, despite reading the pattern multiple times. No big deal in the end because the dress looks great, however I woudn't recommend this to most folks. This pattern is best for a VERY experienced sewer with lots of patience.
