Acton dress

made the acton for my wedding!

what a lovely elegant design! I made this dress in a shot-silk duponi for my wedding and am looking forward to making the long-sleeved version at some point in the future. I ended up making the front of the dress in two halves because the fabric was too narrow but it's not too noticeable, and I crossed the back straps (the back of view B and the wrap detail of view A) and used buttons instead of a zip. I would adjust next time to make the bodice a little shorter for me. such a clever pattern!

That was the best patter I've ever purchased! Very easy to follow! I made the dress from black lightweight linen fabric and size L was just perfect for me. There's only one adjustment that I made and that was to shorten the straps.

Versatile and Easy to Modify

I modified the acton dress view A pattern for my wedding dress, and I absolutely love it! The pattern was easy to understand and the extra resources online about modifying patterns was super helpful. I also want to make myself a true-to-pattern Acton dress because it's so pretty but that'll have to wait until after the wedding.
