Produced well in marginal planting location
Planted in a marginal location at the edge of my garden (12' north of a 60' tall tree line, frequently shaded, but only location where I could build screened-in planting beds for my root crops without sacrificing valuable sunny space for summer crops. Despite planting them in a less-than-ideal location, Yaya produced plenty of yummy carrots to satisfy the two of us. They grew well all summer long in 2024 and again in 2025. The somewhat sheltered location and warmth from fall seedling lights allowed them to grow well into winter last year -- harvested the last few in February, actually. I would think if they grow for me in these conditions, they should grow for you.

Usually a good choice
I’ve grown these for several years from seed tape in raised beds. They’re always a crunchy treat. This year they seem to be slow to germinate which is a bit disappointing.
