Cube Of Butter Summer Squash

Not what I was expecting

I ordered the cube of butter transplant and despite them being bright yellow in the photo, every one of mine has grown almost white. Some had green on the bottom as well. I was also shocked by the size. Some have grown to over 1’ long. While they taste the way I would expect, this definitely wasn’t the squash I believed that I ordered.

A really good yellow squash

I have grown this for several years and it continues to be my best yellow squash choice. It has excellent yield and is quite flavorful. I won a ribbon at the fair with this squash last year as it has beautiful form. I like that it is compact as it stays in a 5' x 5' raised bed and continues to yield well into the fall.

Cube of Butter

This squash is so much better than crookneck squash, or any of the other yellow zucchini. I grow it every year. It is not quite as yellow as other varieties, but the flavor is like butter, really. Also super prolific.
