Vitamin C Serum

I have been using the Vitamin C serum for years. But every time it starts out like a gel and within 2-3 weeks it starts losing it's consistency... then eventually loses its clear color. I started writing the date I open the bottle on it to try to keep track.. this bottle I opened the beginning of December and it started losing it's integrity last week. Please advise. I don't let the dropped touch my skin, I shake each time, and close the container up tightly

Vit C experience has been delightful. I apply on a clean face; apply and then apply a moisturizer. I am seeing improvement too.
