New Orleans style Lump Crab Cakes

While the crab cakes were tasty, they were quite beat up during shipping. Moreover, shipping was severely delayed. I booked a Wed shipment for a Friday delivery, but it rolled all the way to the next Monday before it shipped and finally arrived on Wednesday (the day before I needed them). They didn’t stay well frozen during shipment either, as the gel pack used didn’t keep items as cold as dry ice would. The cardboard boxes were also wet/soggy, again suggesting less than adequate cooling. Lastly, because the crab cakes were packed loose in a plastic bag in the soggy box, they settled to one side (the box was on edge) and ended up being quite misshaped when I pulled them from my freezer the following day. At these prices they really ought to have a tray that keeps the cakes in place securely. While we did fine the crab cakes tasty, we likely won’t order them again unless they change their packaging and/or shipping practices.
