The King in Yellow Playing Cards

Another fantastic collection of card decks based on The King in Yellow and thus intimately ‘joined at the hip’ with other decks released by Vermilion. Now I have the majority of Lovecraftian odds and ends of which Vermilion is well known for having and this, again, is a must have, just holding and looking into the image brings on memories of reading and imagining, in your own mind, the story the first time you really read it and take it all in..

Amazing back art, plain and dull front.

With something like The King in Yellow, the expectations built with the descriptions and back art of The Endless deck were quite high, but the face of the deck is ultimately very plain and dull, and the illustrations don't match with the incredible cosmic feel of the promotional art and the beautiful design at the back of the cards. Very disappointing.

Great! But....

As always, fantastic quality and presentation from Vermillion. But, I had to deduct a star because I bought the Endless deck in addition to the Hyades' Shade Box, and found that many of the illustrations of the Face cards are repeated in the three decks of the Shade Box. For the price point, IMO, they should all be original, or I guess don't waste your money on the Endless deck. I bought it expecting it to be original and stand alone, but it is not. Vermilion should make this more obvious a point to collectors.
