Faraway Downs Dress 18" Doll Clothes Pattern

I just retired so I got my sewing machine out and started in on some of the patterns I have been collecting from Pixie Faire. Instructions were easy to follow and instructional pictures are a blessing. The fit was perfect! I did the closure on the back a little different, ...we all have our own preferences and these patterns are so versatile. Since we live in very rural area, I repurposed a blouse I had in the closet.

Love this pattern! Great directions and easy. I made just the skirt portion, but also plan to make the entire dress. I put the skirt with the sweater made from socks as shown in the upcycled socks tutorial. I actually made four of each for my Valentines sweeties. Also thanks to the other reviewers for heads up about bodice lining. Good to know for when I start the dress.

This pattern was fun to make and easy to follow, but the skirt lining is about a half inch to short to match up with the bodice when assembling. I talked to other ladies who have make this and they ran into the same problem. Fixed it by just making the lining after the bodice was constructed, but just a heads up for others who want to make it without the frustration of finding it not matching up. However, I would recommend this to others for a cute and playful pattern to make for your 18 inch dolls!
