After reviewing videos, reviews and ops manuals I had my choices narrowed to 3 machines. Rocket R58, ECM Synkronica II and Profitec Drive. Dual Boilers was an absolute requirement. At the last second I was made aware of the Quickmill Vetrano 2B Evo. Quickmill doesn’t get much attention from the prosumer group? Knowing what I know now, I find this hard to explain. To my true surprise, I found that even though it’s been out since 2018 the specs met or went beyond those of all of my A-List choices. Nothing earth shattering but useful stuff. Specifically, The option of 15 or 20 amp operation. Most homes have 15 amp plugs but if you have a 20a plug, you simply program via the PID for 20 amp operation. This allows, the steam boiler and the brew boiler to heat at the same time. They can always be used at the same time, but on 15 amp operation they heat independently to keep current draw lower. Another important feature for me, was the height was slightly smaller, which allowed it to fit under my cabinets. The most important feature, however, was an all stainless steel frame. This was unique to the Quickmill. I always try to buy high-quality equipment and I always keep it a long time. I read numerous long-term reviews of other machines having frame rust after varying years of use, particularly the R 58. (that actually knocked the R 58 off my list early and narrowed it to three machines. ) That coveres all of the really important stuff. I had decided not to let Price be a factor for me as this was presumably my last machine for at least 10 years or longer if possible. That being said, the Quickmill was about $600 cheaper! So, it was an easy decision. At purchase time, I added a ECM flow control head, which Chris’s Coffee was nice enough to install for me at no additional charge. They are not hard to install, but I was very concerned with scratching the beautiful finish. Chris’s Coffee was beyond outstanding from the first phone call until the end of the order and beyond. My machine arrived in perfect condition, with no scratches, no dents in a box that could’ve been thrown out of a helicopter. Best of all, it was properly configured per my specifications and tested before shipping to ensure that everything worked. Within one hour, I was brewing the best espresso I’ve ever had. I would strongly recommend this machine to anyone thinking about a dual boiler unit. I would definitely buy it again without hesitation, and I would definitely buy it again from Chris’s Coffee. It was a great experience. I’ve had it for over 3 months now with no issues.
