Since the discontinuation of the Price straight line tailpiece, there have been little upgrade choices out of the traditional realm of the standard presto; however thanks to Deering banjos, this new take on the presto is a vast improvement from even that. Deering’s re-design of the presto eliminates all of the problems associated with the other tailpieces by improving sustain, frequency response, and eliminating unwanted wolf tones, rattling, and instability. I’d recommend putting this on any resonator banjo for a noticeable improvement of tone that doesn’t drastically change your instrument’s inherent characteristics.
