Bold and Smooth Dark Roast

If you enjoy darker roasts, this one is worth trying. It delivered a rich aroma and full-bodied flavor while remaining smooth and easy to drink. The roast brought out deeper notes without tasting burnt or bitter. It made an excellent morning cup and held up well across different brewing methods. A very satisfying coffee that I would gladly order again.

I tried many coffees looking for a replacement for a brand that no longer sells whole beans. After trying close to 20 different kinds of coffee I landed on Dark Guatemala from Fresh Roasted. It’s dark and smooth with no acidity. It’s on repeat order.

I’ve been hooked on dark Guatemalan Huehuetenango ever since the first time I brewed it on a slow, cold morning. The aroma alone felt like stepping into a warm kitchen — all dark chocolate and a little spice. What gets me every time is how smooth it is. Dark roasts can be harsh, but this one never bites back. It’s bold, sure, but in that comforting, steady way that makes you want a second cup before you’ve even finished the first. There’s this moment, right after the first sip, where the chocolatey richness settles in and the low acidity makes the whole thing feel almost velvety. That’s the part I look forward to. It’s become my “reset” coffee — the one I reach for when I want something familiar, grounding, and genuinely satisfying.
