Rivermont Dress

I thoroughly enjoyed making the Rivermont Dress. I used a Ponte Roma fabric which was the perfect weight for the dress. I did my usual adjustments of lowering the apex, grading at the waist then graded back again at the hip and the dress fitted perfectly first time. It is so comfortable to wear. The pattern came together beautifully and is one which I will definitely make again.

Super pattern as always from Cashmerette, needed a simple, comfortable dress for work and it certainly delivers. An easy quick make that I have made three of to date. Every goes together beautifully, with very clear instructuons. I plan to make the pretty top option next. Cashmerette patterns have been a game changer for me - not even kidding!

Love this dress!

I'd consider myself a beginner to intermediate sewist. I sewed this dress for myself out of a heavyweight ponte fabric (Robert Kaufman). It turned out great and the pattern is very carefully drafted! The sew-along blog posts are very helpful. I think I may take it in an inch or two in the hips and skirt--usually a straight 24 fits me perfectly for Cashmerette styles, but this one is just a smidge big on me. If I sew it again, I might go down to a 22. I think I will also topstitch the collar to make the lining lie flatter. But other than those tweaks, this dress turned out great and I highly recommend it!
